True Love Gives

Do you want to live free?  Then give your life to me and give yourself to others.  Fear loses power once you’ve placed your life in my hands.  When something isn’t yours anymore, it doesn’t belong to you and you have nothing to lose.  When your life is all about blessing others and you have their best interest in mind, it takes the attention off of you and magnifies God.  By sharing material things, opening up your home to be hospitable or through giving emotional support to others, you are making yourself available.  In essence, you are following in the footsteps of my Son.   When you invite people into your life, you are sharing bits of my glory with them.   As you use your energy to minister to people, you discover the meaning of Christianity, which is love.

The cross teaches us that true love gives; it lays down its life for its friends.  Jesus didn’t come to be served but to serve, he didn’t come to be loved but to love and though he was rejected, he accepted everyone who came to him.  Do likewise and you won’t have unrealistic expectations of others.  Earnestly bestow favor on others regardless of their behavior towards you. 

Isn’t authentic love attractive?   When you learn the value of giving yourself, you have found a great treasure.  In giving your life away, you actually find it.  Knowing that you’ve enriched the life of another and brought love and hope to him or her will bring you joy.  Freedom manifests when your hand is open, so let go!
