A Lonely Place

It’s inevitable my children, that at some point in your life, you will experience loneliness. It doesn’t have to be a negative time or something to be shunned. Part of my call to you as a believer is to come aside and pursue me one on one. There are transformational benefits of being alone. If you can embrace it, consider this quiet time a gift from me. When it’s still and there are no interruptions to distract you, you will hear me more clearly. You can tap into what’s on my heart and discover how you can partner with me. Our relationship and intimacy will develop to new heights and you will receive spiritual discernment and insight.

How do I want you to respond to a lonely period in your life? Seek me. Pray for new strength and ask me to reveal my perfect will for your life. Be sensitive and deliberately think about the needs that are all around you. Can you help to fill them and care for others? Begin to appreciate your fellow man and how wonderful it is to have human relationships. Ask me to direct you to individuals with whom I’d like you to initiate a friendship and or share your faith with. In the dark places, when you are pressed to think about what to do to overcome it, brainstorm. In so doing, you will be investing into your personal future. Believe that in the solitude I can inspire you to do things you never thought of before.

There is always a reward for retreating to a lonely place and seeking me. When you come to the secret place for a season, you will discover my companionship and peace.

Bible Passages

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” (Ps. 91:1&2) NKJV

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Ps. 16:11) NKJV

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! (2 Cor. 9:15) ESV
