Obedience Brings Blessing
My child, I know that you love me with a tender heart. It’s obvious that you long to please me but you also struggle with wanting to please man. Remember that the greatest difference between believers and nonbelievers is the blood of Jesus. While it’s true that the blood covers all of your sin, it is also true that I have called you to live a holy life. There must be a clear distinction between my people and the people of the world.
There are situations in your life where you have a choice between doing what I say is right and not offending, disappointing or hurting someone’s feelings. It may put you in a position where you are made fun of, disassociated with or chastised. Though your flesh doesn’t want to stand up, you must yield to my spirit in you. Do not allow your soul man to confuse your spirit man by compromising loyalty and faithfulness to me.
In your heart of love and compassion you sometimes forget that to love me is to obey me. When you love me first with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and then others as yourself, your spirit man will take ascendency and rule your soul. If you permit your flesh to rule, you will cave to keeping people happy or you will become angry and defiant against people who oppose you. You can’t handle societal pressures in the natural. My spirit always leads you according to truth. When you allow me to have control, you will maintain a position of confidence and balance but it’s always in an assertive manner.
Personal experience has taught you that the truth can hurt. Yet you know that there were times you needed to hear hard words yourself because they opened your eyes and led you into freedom. They actually changed the trajectory of your life and resulted in having peace with me. You have enjoyed an unhindered, intimate relationship with me ever since. Continue to seek my kingdom, my character and my way of doing and being right and I will give you everything you need. (Matt.6:33) You will live with favor and your life will glorify me.
